We meet Gisella Marini, a Federcacciatrice who lent herself as testimonial of our new line of women's clothing created with the FIDC Hunter Coordination
Thank you for the opportunity you are offering me, through this all-female space that talks about hunting, real life and healthy emotions. Let me introduce myself, my name is Marini Gisella, I was born in Puglia in a small town in the hills on the banks of the Fortore river where it was not easy to become a hunter. In San Paolo di Civitate, few inhabitants and many prejudices. I am a wife, a professional at my job, a mother, a marksman and a hunter. It's not simple, but nothing in life is, good will, constant commitment to doing well, have me
helped me to be my best. Today I can say that the sacrifices made have led me to play important roles, to be founder and president of a hunting club, provincial vice president of my association, member of the shooting sector in the national sports commission Federcaccia and last but not least, with great pride referent for Puglia, Campania and Basilicata del FEDERCACCIATRICI NATIONAL COORDINATION . This is my story so far….
In the meantime, we'd like you to talk about how your passion for hunting was born
Unlike many hunters or huntresses, I haven't had anyone who passed on this passion to me, but I owe it all to my desire to be in nature . I owe my passion for nature to my parents, who made me grow up in the countryside for the first years of my life, before moving to the village. I experienced this passage with great bitterness, I missed it freedom of the countryside and as an adult I understood that to feel good I had to start over where I left off and hunting I must say, fully responded to this my need .
What kind of hunting do you practice and what is the aspect you like most about the time dedicated to this activity?
The first 2 years of carrying a firearm, I joined the so-called "all hunting", years in which, starting from scratch I went to school, I learned to recognize the different flights of birds, the traces left on the ground, the use of weapons and much more. After these first years of hunting school, the friends I had made in the meantime made me passionate about hunting hunting for the queen of the woods ; there I understood the true meaning of going out hunting, the satisfaction of killing, understanding with dogs and true love for nature. After the first few years, but without a dog that was mine, I found myself going hunting with wild boar friends and so for about 10 years I have been practicing almost exclusively this type of environment, with a completely different approach and a lot more that I had to learn . But I can say that the woodcock hunting it remains in my heart and if one day I manage to have a dog of my own, I will certainly return to my over-and-under on my shoulder and I will enjoy the magic and silence of the woods again.
What is it like to be a hunter in a region of Southern Italy? Are there rigidities in the environment for a woman?
Well I still have to say today, I happen to meet people who marvel at this my passion , but all in all in almost 15 years of hunting experience, a few things have changed, many have appreciated me right away, but just as many people have questioned my vocation, some in a delicate way, others with appreciation I would say in bad taste. For example already in my house, my father was thrilled to have one hunter daughter , but the mother still today I'm not here to explain how many she says... But today I see that things have slowly changed, also through the contribution of the group of women Cacciatrici Federcaccia , the visibility of the female world with a rifle on their shoulders is leaving behind old stereotypes . My wish is always the same, to bring people from the south but also many from the rest of Italy to look at hunting as something beautiful, as a natural continuation of the evolution of human history, to look at the hunter as an element of support and support for the environment, especially in this delicate period of the earth's climatic history.
We know that you are a new mother and we would like to understand if and how you manage to combine everything: work, family and even this hunting interest of yours.
Oh yes, I have a one and a half year old daughter, but I have never stopped my hunting trips even when I was pregnant. There are many commitments, and today that there is Joy I have to organize myself even more in order to don't overlook anything . My outings for now that she is small have been reduced to Sunday outings, with the help and support of my husband. Being a woman involves so many no's, but I'm trying to transform those renunciations into opportunities, even for the little one, for example I always carry her with me, except when hunting of course, but only because she's really little, but otherwise she's with me almost always , so even in the hunting environment it has always been the mascot. This is because I think it's important for her to grow up and be immersed in the hunting environment right away.
How did you find out about our company?
I know the KONUS for many years, I have heard of it first while hunting and then attending the shooting ranges. Lots of shooters in fact, they use your optics for long and precision shots. I myself have a KONUS brand optic on my rifle for long range competitions.
What do you think of these Konustex branded women's garments?
I was lucky enough to be celebrity endorsement of the brand and to try the bosses preview. I have to acknowledge the KONUSTEX brand great resistance of fabrics but also lots of heat above all for hunting ungulates in the middle of winter, where the days are often cold and the routes are difficult, full of thorns and unexpected events. I must say that especially the trousers have passed all the tests. The vest with many pockets and precautions that make it very useful comfortable and safe thanks also to the high visibility fabric.
Is there a particular item in this line that you find perfect for you?
Each garment of the KONUSTEX women's line has its strengths, as I described before, the pant resistant and comfortable , the vest in addition to the peculiarities described above, it draws the shapes of us women well, making it a perfect garment for all physicalities. The sweatshirt , a garment soft which can always be used even after a day of hunting. My favorite garment is certainly the jacket , with a unbeatable fit even with the gilet on top, a jacket useful for all types of hunting, with a roomy back pocket and many other details designed to be a feminine garment and a technical garment at the same time.
I know you also know our testimonial Maria Grazia Perretta, what binds you?
I met Maria Grazia in a shooting test, I saw her as a resource for the whole group Federcaccia hunters , in fact it was. She is a simple but combative girl, with shooting flowing in her blood, a warrior from Campania who knows how to bring up the added value of women who have a passion for weapons. We often met on fields like friends and as adversaries, but all this always with great honesty and transparency.
Is there any advice you would like to give to any girl who is starting out in the world of hunting?
One piece of advice that comes from my heart to give is to to listen the experience of veterans, to work side by side with expert and prudent people. For the rest, only time will make that girl or woman a true hunter, and if someone wants to hinder this vocation, smile and to move on with one's own head, because in this world that is increasingly against hunting, one must be able to confront each other but also to remain silent in the face of the ignorance of the distrustful. Love and respect nature and the killed game, thanking him. Try to convey the best of this art, not to be influenced by anyone.
I wanted to thank the FEDERCACCIA HUNTER COORDINATION group for this wonderful experience and opportunity it gave me, becoming a KONUSTEX testimonial: a group of strong women with many projects and a great desire to share the positive experience of female hunting.
